It seems as though I’m not the only one who has an issue with the AC-adapter of my Acer aspire laptop (3680). Electronics are getting crazy sometimes and i do have stories to tell. Really i don’t know what happend guys….but one thing i know from my experience as amateur electronic engineer.

I also checked for errors thru the management tools of windows but the only thing that displays to me is one service control manager fault. When i arrived at my home i reboot it and know problem. In the meanwhile 2 beeps heard from the main board which is a kind of trouble diagnostic code.(i don’t know it. The laptop began to work and boot up easy easy but correct. Today i went to the service point and got my acer back because i got ungry with them for the delay of the repair.One week ago i ordered them to do nothing with it.The laptop didn’t go onto the bench for check.So when i took it on my hands i started visual examination for any damages and accidently pressed the main start button. On my laptop crashed and i decided to sent it for service on 01/05 friday after trying to fix it by myself. I almost don’t believe it….check out the crazy story underneath

What help do i need: Does anyone know how to proceed on my problem I also pull out dc supply and main battery and pressed the main button for 6 seconds for resetting. I checked for damages on the mainboard or for eletronic componets malfunctions but i did nothing. What i did so far: Pull out the hard disk, the dvd drive, the modem, the screen, the graphics card, the ram memories ,the keyboard, the small battery, the main battery and installed them again one by one trying to eliminate any problem. Notice: I plugged my USB FLASH LIGHT and i saw that it lights for the same time my computer is trying to start up and then goes off. When i plugged out the battery and the dc supply the computer went off and when i press the main button to switch it on, for half second my computer seems that it is going to start up properly,but the same thing is happening again. The main processor fan is working but spining very slow. Quick launch button for email also stays on as well as hard disk led is continuously on. The symptoms: Main on-off button led stays on. The problem: 2 weeks ago as my laptop aspire 1620 was in use and connected to the internet, suddenly run off having the following symptoms.
(not that I would expect the wireless card to be hot, but hey! i could get at that, so I checked 🙁 ) I’m getting a really bad feeling about the whole thing, it’s about 2 months over the end of the warranty now, so i won’t be able to get it looked at that way…any suggestions? I reckon something is overheating somewhere, I took the panels away that are available to remove at the back, and none of those parts (memory and wirelesss card i guess) are hot at all.

So I tried formatting with an old windows cd, and then tried to install windows that way, same problem, only after slightly longer this time. Trouble is, now it just shuts itself down after about 1-3 mins of use, which is not nearly enough time to run the gets past the BIOS and will boot from the CD, but thats about it, locks up and shuts down after having copied about 100 megs.

Manuals not available anymore.Īcer Aspire 1520: It started going really slowly tonight, so I thought hey I know I’ll run the recovery and ghost the OS back to the original state, see if that makes any difference.
